ALERT: SCDOR Notifies Compromised Taxpayers

The South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) is mailing letters to taxpayers whose personal information has been compromised from the recent security breach. If you filed tax returns in South Carolina since 1998, this may affect you. It is possible that bank account numbers were compromised as well.

If you receive a letter, we want you to know that as your bank, we are here to help you in any way that we can. The following are steps you may want to take to help protect yourself going forward:

·Enroll in the free 1-year identity theft protection and credit monitoring offered
by the state through ProtectMyID.com. Deadline for enrollment is March 31, 2013.

·Regularly view your account statements

·Monitor your account activity online

If you have any questions regarding your account(s) with us or how to protect your financial information, please call one of our local offices or our Customer Care Center at 1-888-847-2265. Since this breach originated in the state of South Carolina, please visit SCBTonline.com or click here for more information on how to enroll with ProtectMyID.com and for additional steps you can take to protect yourself.

We know your time is important. If you would prefer to meet with one of our personal bankers, we will be happy to schedule a time that is convenient for you.
