CBT coaching is different from traditional psychotherapy because you don’t necessarily have to have a specific problem, issue, or diagnosis.
You may be generally feeling well, but still want to better yourself in some way. You may know the specific ways you’d like to improve, or you may not be so clear on the progress you’d like to make and would like to have a coach help you assess any blind spots or areas for further improvement.
Coaching is different from traditional therapy because it is a more active and directive approach. The coach is not necessarily a neutral participant, but rather an active guide who will be more challenging, share their opinions and provide straightforward feedback.
The key difference between coaching and therapy is that coaching is focused on the present moment. Coaching is all about problem-solving and generating solutions rather than delving deeply into the past.
